One Dozen (12) assorted bamboo sticks between 20" and 29" long and between 1/4 inch and 1 1/4 inch in diameter.

Bamboo gains it’s strength from it’s nodes, so I cut my bamboo very close to nodes, which dramatically increases it’s durability. I then use open flame to do a basic heat treat of each piece. This process drives out the moisture and starches which attract insects, and pulls a layer of natural oils to the surface, which when hand burnished leaves a hard smooth finish and adds a bit of visual texture. Big box bamboo is not heat treated but may be chemically treated and cut to size in mass. leaving open tube ends, reducing strength and durability while attracting moisture and insects. A periodic rub down with an oil/wax wood type finisher or our own "Bamboo Juice" conditioner, will rejuvenate tired bamboo.
